Can I really use my own iPad as a POS system?
Yes. Lazygrid runs natively on any iPad with iPadOS 17 or later. Just download the app from the App Store, sign in, and you have a fully functional point of sale system. No special POS hardware required — your existing iPad becomes your till.
What's the minimum iPad model I need?
Lazygrid requires iPadOS 17 or later. If your iPad can update to iPadOS 17, it can run Lazygrid. Check Settings → General → Software Update before installing the app.
Can I use my iPhone as a POS terminal too?
Yes! Lazygrid runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. This is perfect for mobile ordering — servers can take orders tableside, or you can use it as a portable POS at markets, pop-ups, and events. Some food trucks use just an iPhone and an EFTPOS terminal.
Can Lazygrid run on an iMac?
Yes. Lazygrid runs on Apple silicon iMacs with an M1 chip or newer. The larger screen works well for a fixed counter station, product and menu management, order handling, and reviewing reports in the back office.
Do I need to buy a stand or case for my iPad?
Not necessarily. Many cafes and small businesses use their iPad with a standard case propped on the counter. If you want a more professional setup, any iPad stand or enclosure works — we don't lock you into proprietary hardware. We also offer complete hardware packages if you prefer a turnkey solution.
