Retail inventory, kept practical

Know what moved—and what is ready to sell.

Lazygrid retail inventory follows the work a small store does every day: receive stock, sell it, correct it when needed and see the movement history behind the number.

  1. 01

    Receive and adjust

Record incoming stock, inventory returns and manual adjustments, with each change added to the product’s movement history.

  2. 02

    Sell from one catalogue

Use the same products, merchant SKU or barcode, pricing and stock-on-hand record at the iPad POS and in the connected online channel.

  3. 03

    Protect availability

Show low-stock warnings, reserve stock during online checkout and optionally prevent an out-of-stock sale from being completed.

Barcode checkout

Scan the product. Find the item. Add it to the cart.

Start with the iPad or iPhone camera for scan-to-cart, or connect a compatible Bluetooth HID barcode scanner when a dedicated counter scanner suits the pace of your store.

Product codesUse a merchant SKU or barcode, or an internal EAN-13 code.
Dedicated scannerCompatible Bluetooth HID scanners are supported.
Installation checkSelected 2.4GHz receiver setups can be confirmed during installation. We do not claim generic USB or universal scanner compatibility.

The counter flow

  1. 1

    Present the code

Use the product label your catalogue is mapped to recognise.

  2. 2

    Scan into the cart

The matching product is found and added for checkout.

  3. 3

    Complete the sale

A completed sale consumes stock when inventory tracking is enabled.

In-store and online inventory

One product source, with stock rules for each sales moment.

The counter and connected online shop share products and stock, while each channel keeps the behaviour it needs.

At the iPad counter

Complete the face-to-face sale against stock on hand.

Scan or select the item, take payment and let the completed sale update inventory. A store can enable prevention of out-of-stock sales when that rule fits its operation.

During online checkout

Reserve available stock before the online order completes.

The reservation helps protect online availability while the customer checks out. Once completed, the order consumes stock from the same product and inventory source.

Hardware & payments

Lead with iPad. Add only the hardware the shop needs.

A compatible iPad is the primary retail POS. A compatible iPhone or Apple silicon iMac can also run Lazygrid, with the scanner, printer and payment setup checked for your counter.

Questions from retail buyers

Small retail POS FAQ.

How does Lazygrid connect retail POS, inventory and online selling?

Lazygrid uses one product and inventory source for sales made in store and through the connected online retail channel. The same stock-on-hand record supports counter sales, online availability, reservations and completed-order deductions, so the two channels are not maintained as separate catalogues.

Can I scan product barcodes at the counter?

Yes. The iPad and iPhone camera can scan a product code and add the matching item to the cart. Compatible Bluetooth HID barcode scanners are also supported. Selected 2.4GHz receiver setups can be confirmed during installation; Lazygrid does not promise generic USB support or compatibility with every scanner.

Which product codes can I use?

A product can use your merchant SKU or barcode, and Lazygrid can also work with an internal EAN-13 code. We confirm how existing codes should be mapped before importing or labelling products.

What retail inventory tasks does Lazygrid cover?

Retail inventory tracking covers stock on hand, low-stock warnings, receiving, manual adjustments, inventory returns and stock movement history. Stores can also enable prevention of out-of-stock sales.

How is stock handled when a customer shops online?

Online checkout reserves available stock while the order is being completed. A completed online order consumes stock from the same inventory source used by the in-store POS, helping reduce online overselling without splitting your catalogue by sales channel.

What Apple devices and retail hardware can I use?

The primary retail setup is a compatible iPad. Lazygrid can also run on a compatible iPhone or Apple silicon iMac. Receipt-printer, barcode-scanner and counter-layout compatibility should be checked against your proposed hardware before installation.

Which EFTPOS options work with Lazygrid?

Integrated counter-payment options include Windcave, EFTPOS NZ with compatible Verifone terminals, and Shift4. Stripe WisePad 3 is a distinct portable-reader option for compatible iPad and iPhone setups. We confirm the provider, terminal and connection during setup.

Can Lazygrid help us recognise and retain customers?

Yes. Lazygrid supports customer records, Customer Accounts with controlled house credit, loyalty and gift vouchers. Plan availability and the right account workflow can be confirmed during a retail demo.

How much does a retail POS system cost in New Zealand?

Lazygrid software is NZ$24 per month for Lite, NZ$59 per month for Standard and NZ$149 per month for Premium. Hardware, EFTPOS equipment and payment processing may be charged separately, so ask for a setup estimate based on the devices you need.

Can Lazygrid take over our existing retail website?

Premium supports taking over and maintaining an existing customer website. The migration, redesign and ongoing maintenance scope is confirmed during onboarding, because every current site, catalogue and domain setup is different.
